Surviving Breast Cancer is a film that is being made to promote managed care - managing your own care.

This film is being made to save lives. Uninsured women with breast cancer die at twice the rate of insured women with breast cancer. A kaiser study found that 13,000 breast cancer deaths, a third of the annual total, are preventable.

Surviving Breast Cancer will demonstrate the survival of this filmmaker and three other uninsured women. It will show strategies these women use to navigate medical bureaucracies, chose treatments and access resources to enable healing and increase their chances of survival. They surmount many barriers by research, determination, humor and ingenuity.

Surviving Breast Cancer will inspire viewers to advocate for what every ill person deserves - a timely diagnosis and quality treatment.
